Goaltender Andrew Hammond (upper-body) remains status quo. Last Sunday, Hammond went on the ice and was supposed to practice and then be sent down to Binghamton for a conditioning stint. He had symptoms from that Sunday skate and had effectively been shut down. He has not been on the ice since and there is no timetable for his return. - TSN

 

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

Garret Sparks makes his NHL debut as the Leafs host the Oilers at the ACC. Sparks is 8-2-1 with a .938 save percentage with the Marlies this season. - TSN

Jonathan Bernier's reaction to Sparks starting ahead of him tonight: "That’s out of my control. I was ready to go, but he got the call and I’m happy for him. Hopefully he’ll do well and get a win tonight." - TSN

Joffrey Lupul will miss a game due to injury for the first time this season. Lupul, who had played in every game this season, has been bothered by a nagging issue, per Mike Babcock. He'll be replaced by Daniel Winnik, who sat the past two games as a healthy (not completely) scratch. - TSN
