Ice Chips: Weber a game-time decision
Shea Weber took part in the Canadiens optional skate Wednesday in Nashville. Weber skated alongside David Schlemko, Victor Mete, Byron Froese, and goalies Carey Price and Antti Niemi.

Montreal Canadiens

The Habs recalled defenceman Jakub Jerabek from their AHL affiliate Laval Rocket. Jerabek will join the team in Nashville ahead of their game against the Predators and is expected to make his debut.
In Jerabek's first season in the Habs' organization, the 26-year-old has a goal and 10 assists in 17 games for the Rocket.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers made a roster move Wednesday, ahead of their game with the Detroit Red Wings, recalling defenceman Ryan Stanton from their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors and assigning forward Brad Malone to Bakersfield.
The 28-year-old Stanton has played eight games for the Condors this season without registering a point. He has 120 games in the NHL split between the Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks, and Washington Capitals, registering four goals and 23 assists.
Malone, also 28, had no points in seven games for the Oilers.
The Oilers also placed Russian defenceman Ziyat Paigin on unconditional waivers, cutting ties with the 22-year-old. Paigin played in seven games for the Condors, one year after playing in only five games for the team.

Jonathan Bernier will be between the posts for the second straight game for the Avalanche because regular starter Semyon Varlamov is sick. - Denver Post
The Post reported Varlamov was expected to back up Bernier Wednesday against the Dallas Stars, but the team recalled goalie Andrew Hammond from the Belleville Senators.
Bernier got the win for the Avs Sunday when they edged the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3 in overtime. The 29-year-old has a 3-4 record in seven appearances for Colorado this season, sporting a 3.59 goals-against average and .886 save percentage.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers announced Wednesday they have recalled winger Henrik Haapala. The team has been battling injuries to forwards lately, with right winger Radim Vrbata and centre Derek MacKenzie expected to miss Wednesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It will be Vrbata's second straight game out of the lineup after taking a puck to the face against the Los Angeles Kings late last week. MacKenzie hasn't played since Nov. 11.

Thomas Greiss will start for the New York Islanders against the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday. Greiss will take the lead from Jaroslav Halak in goalie starts this season, 11-10. - Newsday
The 31-year-old is 6-2-2 with a 3.33 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.
San Jose Sharks
Defenceman Paul Martin suffered another setback from his ankle injury, which further clouds his timetable for a return. Coach Pete DeBoer said Martin's latest injury is not a recurrence of the ankle injury that has cost him most of the season and he doesn't think he will need surgery to correct it. - San Jose Mercury News
Martin has only played two games for the Sharks this season, and has not registered any points.
