Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault suffered an upper-body injury in the first period against the Anaheim Ducks Monday and did not return to action.

After the game, head coach Paul Maurice said Perreault will not play Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.

He appeared to get hurt after a slash by Ducks forward Corey Perry.

Perreault, 29, has four goals and 12 assists in 35 games this season with the Jets, his third year with the club.

Anaheim won the game 3-2.

Winnipeg is already without superstar rookie Patrik Laine due to a concussion.
