MALMO, Sweden - Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez scored in the second half as Juventus eliminated Malmo from the Champions League on Wednesday with 2-0 away win.

After a scoreless first half, Llorente broke the deadlock in the 49th minute as he picked up a long pass from Claudio Marchisio, rounded Malmo goalkeeper Robin Olsen and calmly slotted home.

In the 88th, Paul Pogba set up Tevez who beat Olsen with a shot from the right to seal the win.

Malmo defender Erik Johansson went down in a tussle with Alvaro Morata right before the goal and was sent off for protesting as the Swedish team finished the match with 10 men.

The win put Juventus on nine points ahead of the last match against Group A leader Atletico Madrid. Malmo is last in the group with three points and no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage.

"We took a big step and now we will be playing for the first place in the group at home against Atletico," Tevez said.

Juventus had the clearest chances in a gritty first half, but Olsen blocked shots from Arturo Vidal and Marchisio and saw a volley from the latter go just beyond his post. Malmo's best chance came just before the break as Emil Forsberg buried his shot in the side netting.

The Italian champion picked up the pace in the second half, with Marchisio and Tevez coming close before Llorente slipped through Malmo's defence and evaded Olsen with a swift move to the left.

Juventus controlled the rest of the match, with Morata hitting the crossbar before Tevez doubled the lead.

"It felt like they had quicker legs in the second half, and we ended up falling behind," Malmo striker Markus Rosenberg said.
