The Winnipeg Jets provided an injury update on star Patrik Laine Thursday, with head coach Paul Maurice saying Laine has a bruise, nothing is broken.

The 19-year-old left Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings early after blocking a shot. While there is no set timeline for Laine's return to the lineup, it isn't considered serious. Laine will likely be out a couple of days to as much as two weeks, with Maurice adding he is unlikely for the Jets' game against the Nashville Predators Sunday.

Laine is chasing the Rocket Richard Trophy this season with 43 goals - and 25 assists - in 73 games this season, just one behind leader Alex Ovechkin.
