The Vancouver Whitecaps announced on Tuesday that they had acquired Honduras U-20 international Deybi Flores on loan from CD Motagua in the Honduran Liga Nacional.

The loan comes with a transfer option, pending an international transfer certicate and requisite visa.

"Deybi is a talented young box-to-box midfielder with a big upside," said Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson in a release. "He was one of the top players in the recent CONCACAF U-20 tournament and we are excited to welcome him to our club."

Only 18, Flores has played two seasons professionally, capturing a league title with Motagua, and has also represented Honduras at the U-17 level.

"I'm very excited for this opportunity to come play with a great club like Whitecaps FC," said Flores in a release. "I'm eager to join the team and fight for my spot."

Flores is expected to join the club in Vancouver upon completion of paperwork.
