The Dallas Stars have hit rock bottom.

The Stars were routed 7-1 by the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night and head coach Lindy Ruff was less than pleased with his team's performance.

"That may be the worst game I've coached as a Dallas Star," said Ruff to the Dallas Morning News. "We need a lot more out of the leaders of our team. They're the guys who can make the difference at this time. They're the guys that the responsibility lies on.

"I thought as soon as the third one went in, we went dead. The team went dead."

One of those leaders, Tyler Seguin, said he thought they hit rock bottom when they were blasted by the San Jose Sharks just two nights earlier.

"But we got deeper tonight," said Seguin.

"We're going to have to find some pride here, play for each other more and work harder," he said. "Or it's going to be a long couple of weeks."

Patrick Sharp echoed a similar sentiment.

"I guess we can all just look ourselves in the mirror and be accountable. It's a tough situation, no one is going to feel sorry for us," said Sharp after the game. "It's a matter of digging our way out of it somehow."

The Stars have allowed the most goals in the league this season at 228 and have been forced to use two goalies in 13 games.

Dallas sits second last in the Central Division and 13 points behind the St. Louis Blues for the second Wild Card Spot in the Western Conference.
