MADRID - Fernando Llorente is returning to the Spanish league as a striker for Sevilla after spending two years in Italy, the Andalucian club said Thursday.

The 30-year-old Llorente joined Juventus from Athletic Bilbao and scored 11 goals in 30 league starts.

Although he has two years to run on his contract, he opted to return to Spain after the Italian champion reinforced its attack with the arrival of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza.

Llorente passed a medical examination and will be presented to fans at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium Friday afternoon, the club said.

Sevilla said Llorente will aim to attract Spain coach Vicente del Bosque's attention for next year's European Championship.
