LONDON - A Premier League footballer has been fined and warned about his future conduct after admitting to betting on matches.

England's Football Association says Swansea striker James Demetriou was sanctioned in relation to 13 bets placed on football matches between Dec. 3, 2013, and Jan. 21, 2015.

It was not disclosed Tuesday if any of the matches involved Swansea.

Demetriou, who is a fringe player with the Welsh club, was fined 700 pounds ($1,100).
