Washington Capitals head coach Barry Trotz has had enough of Alex Ovechkin’s penalty trouble.

The Washington Capitals star has racked up 10 penalty minutes and no points in his past three games. After Ovechkin picked up another minor penalty (slashing) in Monday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres, Trotz said he’s had enough.

"Unacceptable. He's their leader. He can't take those penalties," Trotz said. "I'm going to address it harshly with him tomorrow."

Washington snapped a three-game losing skid on Monday, while Ovechkin is in the midst of a five-game goal drought.

The Capitals, who won the President’s Trophy with 56 wins last season, are 14-7-3 through 24 games and sit fourth in the Metropolitan Division.

Ovechkin, the team's captain, has scored 12 goals and 18 points in 24 games this season.
