The Vancouver Whitecaps have made their 10th addition of the offseason in Jordon Mutch.

The club announced the signing of the 26-year-old midfielder from Crystal Palace on Friday on a one-year loan.

"Jordon is a top midfielder who has played at the highest level," club head coach Carl Robinson said in a statement. "He's played against the Chelseas, Arsenals, and Manchester Uniteds and now he wants to prove himself again in a new environment. He likes to get forward, he's full of energy, and he's in the prime of his career. We're delighted to have him here."

A native of Derby, England, Mutch made his senior team debut with Birmingham City in 2008 after spending time in the Brummie and Derby youth academies. After loan spells at Hereford United, Doncaster Rovers and Watford, Mutch joined Cardiff City on a permanent in 2012, helping the Bluebirds to capture the Championship and seal promotion to the Premier League for the first time ever.

Mutch was sold to QPR ahead of the 2014 season for a reported £6 million. After only nine appearances with the Hoops, he joined Palace during the January 2015 transfer window, signing a four-and-a-half year deal with the club.

He made 31 appearances for Palace in the league over three seasons before joining Championship side Reading on loan last term.

The Whitecaps kick off their 2018 MLS campaign on Sunday when they host the Montreal Impact at BC Place.
