Christine Sinclair and Jessie Fleming chipped in with goals as Canada opened its final tune-up tournament before the FIFA Women's World Cup with a 2-0 win over Scotland at the Cyprus Cup.

Fleming, 16, scored her first-ever goal with Canada while goalkeeper Erin McLeod earned the shutout.

"Jessie put everything in to get that goal and the vision from Sinclair was phenomenal. Not many women can see that pass," said head coach John Herdman.

What a great start for that 16 year old and we wanted that for her. She's been working really hard on trying to break the box for us and to get in to those goal scoring positions. So to see her sliding in with every sinew to get a toe on it was fantastic."

Canada's next game in the tournament in on Friday when they take on South Korea. Canada has won the Cyprus Cup three times and is seeking its first title since 2011.
