All Settled

The Colorado Avalanche and centre Ryan O'Reilly avoided salary arbitration on Wednesday, agreeing to a two-year contract that pays him $5.8 million next season and $6.2 million in 2015-16. The 23-year-old scored 28 goals and added 36 assists in 80 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14. Full Story.

Extended Absence

The Calgary Stampeders have played without running back Jon Cornish for the last three weeks could will be without the reigning Most Outstanding Player for another six. The Stampeders placed him on the six-game injury list on Wednesday morning and he would be eligible to return on Sept. 6, though the team can activate him earlier. Full Story.
