Oilers will replace Hitchcock at head coach

The Edmonton Oilers will replace Ken Hitchcock at head coach, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported. Dreger added there is a decent possibility Hitchcock remains with the club in an advisor role.

The Edmonton Oilers will replace Ken Hitchcock at head coach, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported.

Not surprisingly, the Oilers will replace Ken Hitchcock as head coach. Decent possibility Hitchcock stays on as an advisor.

Hitchcock took over as the team's head coach in November after the firing of Todd McLellan. The 67-year-old led the team to a 26-28-8 record over 62 games last season.

Dreger added there is a decent possibility Hitchcock remains with the club in an adviser role.
