The Toronto Argonauts are expected to add another piece to Cory Chamblin's coaching staff with the hiring of Jacques Chapdelaine as the team's offensive coordinator.

TSN's Matthew Scianitti reports the club will hand the reins of the offence to the 57-year-old former head coach of the Montreal Alouettes.

A native of Sherbrooke, Que., Chapdelaine has a wealth of CFL experience, beginning his coaching career in 2001 as a special teams and receivers coach with the Calgary Stampeders and working various offensive coaching and coordinating jobs with the BC Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Als before getting their top job in 2016 upon the resignation of Jim Popp, who is now the general manager of the Argos.

Chapdelaine was a member of three Grey Cup-winning staffs in 2001, 2006 and 2011.

Chapdelaine posted 7-10 record over parts of two seasons with the Als, fired 11 games into the 2017 season.

A slotback in his playing days, Chapdelaine spent seven seasons in the CFL with the Lions, Montreal Concordes, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Stamps.
