Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Travis Dermott will skate Tuesday according to head coach Mike Babcock.

The 21-year-old left Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets after taking a Ben Chiarot slapshot off his right foot. He left the game and did not return.

TSN's Mark Masters reported earlier Monday that the injury was not expected to cause Dermott to miss any time during the playoffs.

"They did the X-ray and it was negative," Babcock said before the game. "Then they did the CT scan and it was negative ... Now he's walking around and all that so it's just give him a couple of days here and he should be up and running."

In 36 games this season, Dermott has one goal and 12 assists with a rating of plus-17.

Following Monday's 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres, the Leafs will be back in action Thursday in New Jersey to face the Devils.
