Laval Rouge et Or defensive lineman Mathieu Betts remains the top-ranked player in the CFL Scouting Bureau's final rankings for the 2019 Canadian draft.

Betts, a Montreal native who helped his team win the Vanier Cup last fall, was No. 2 in the first ranking released in August and first in December's winter ranking. He was also selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game in January.

Betts became the first player in history to claim the J.P. Metras Trophy (outstanding down lineman in U Sports) three times and the first to win four major U Sports awards during his career after registering a league-leading nine sacks this season.

In total, 11 U SPORTS stars cracked the April Scouting Bureau list, including players from Laval, Laurier, Windsor, StFX, Concordia, Waterloo and UBC.

The only quarterback on the 20-player list is UBC's Michael O'Connor. The Orleans, Ont., native is No. 17, up from 19th in December. The six-foot-five, 235-pound O'Connor played at Penn State in 2014 but opted to leave after one year, shunning offers from four other NCAA schools to attend UBC and helped the Thunderbirds win the 2015 Vanier Cup.

The draft will be held on May 2.
