SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Brandon Gignac broke a 2-2 tie with less than two minutes to play to send the Laval Rocket to a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch Saturday to even up their second-round American Hockey League playoff series at a game apiece.

Jesse Ylönen, who assisted on Gignac's game-winning goal, and Alex Belzile also scored for the Rocket.

Laval goalie Cayden Primeau stopped 37 shots to preserve the win.

Simon Ryfors and Daniel Walcott were the goal scorers for Syracuse.

Walcott's goal at the 12:40 mark of the third period evened the game up at 2-2 and it was looking like it would be heading to overtime until Gignac scored at 18:13 to even up the series.

In the only other game in Calder Cup playoff action Sunday saw the Manitoba Moose drop another game to Milwaukee 2-1 as the Admirals took a 2-0 stranglehold in that series.
