Boston Bruins
Veteran forward David Backes will return to Boston's lineup for Saturday's Game 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs after being a healthy scratch in the opening game of the series. Forward Jake DeBrusk, who left Game 1 briefly after crashing into the end board, will be a game-time decision, but head coach Bruce Cassidy expects him to play. The 22-year-old DeBrusk, who scored 27 goals and added 15 assists in 2018-19, left briefly but returned to action. Backes, 34, has seven goals and 13 assists over 70 games this season.
