The 2016 League of Legends World Championship prize pool has surpassed $5 million thanks to the revenue from Championship Zed and Championship ward skins, Riot Games announced.

The winners of the event, either SK Telecom T1 or Samsung Galaxy, will take home more than $2 million.

The original prize pool was near the same amount, coming in at $2.13 million, before the game developer announced that 25 per cent of the skin sales would be added to the total.

The prize pool will be finalized on Nov. 6, a week after the final.
