ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - It was a fitting way for Dylan Strome to win the Ontario Hockey League scoring title on Sunday.

Strome scored four times and added two assists as the Erie Otters edged the Niagara IceDogs 8-7 to close out their regular season.

The 18-year-old forward, who is eligible for the NHL Draft in June, finished the year with 45 goals and 84 assissts. Strome's 129 points is also a new Erie franchise record— surpassing Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Connor Brown, who produced 128 points last season with the Otters.

Mitchell Marner of the London Knights finished second in OHL scoring with 126 points.

Alex DeBrincat also had a six-point night — including five assists — for the Otters (50-14-4), who enter the post-season on a 10-game winning streak. Nicholas Baptiste struck twice while Travis Dermott rounded out the attack.

Jordan Maletta scored twice for Niagara (37-26-4), which had its four-game winning streak snapped. Vince Dunn, Mikkel Aagaard, Christopher Paquette, Cody Payne and Ryan Mantha also chipped in.

Devin Williams started for Erie and turned away 30-of-36 shots in 40 minutes. Daniel Dekoning went the rest of the way, making 13 saves. Brandon Hope suffered the loss, kicking out 24 shots.

Both teams went 2 for 4 on the power play.
