GREEN BAY, Wis. - Authorities said Wednesday that Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion had been arrested in Florida on felony charges of drug and firearm possession after a traffic stop turned up three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and a bag containing more than $190,000 in cash.

Guion, 27, was arrested on Tuesday night during a traffic stop in his hometown of Starke, Florida. Police said that the lineman "became extremely unco-operative and hostile" during the stop and wound up being handcuffed to protect the officers.

Guion was released from Bradford County jail on Wednesday on $100,000 bail.

"We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion. We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment," the Packers said in a statement. Guion's agent, Seth Katz, declined comment and referred inquiries to the team.

Green Bay signed Guion to a one-year deal as a free agent last off-season. Finishing with 3 1/2 sacks, Guion turned into a key cog on the defensive line and filled a hole up front after veteran B.J. Raji was lost for the year in the preseason with a biceps injury.

Now Guion's future is murky with one of the league's model franchises.

According a police statement, Guion asked the officer who pulled him over "if he knew who he was."

During the search of the truck, Guion "kept coming towards the vehicle several times" and asked officers not to take his money, police said. Guion had to be handcuffed after rushing the driver's side of the truck to try to remove the "bag pack" on the front seat containing the marijuana and money, police said.

According to authorities, Guion said his 9mm semi-automatic handgun was registered. But in Florida, having a firearm is considered a felony if it is in that person's possession while committing another alleged felony.

Authorities said the bag contained more than $190,000 cash as well as 357 grams of marijuana. Possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana in Florida is considered a felony.
