CHARLOTTETOWN — Cedric Desruisseaux had three goals and an assist and linemate Thomas Casey added two goals and three helpers as the Charlottetown Islanders blanked the Halifax Mooseheads 7-0 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Colten Ellis only had to make 19 saves for his league-leading fifth shutout of the season and 16th of his QMJHL career.

Desruisseaux currently leads the QMJHL in goals (25) and points (41), while Casey is right behind him in both categories with 19 goals and 40 points.

Oscar Plandowski and Patrick Guay rounded out the offence to help the Islanders (18-4-0) pick up their third consecutive win.

Alexis Gravel kicked out 29-of-36 shots for the Mooseheads (8-12-5), who are on a three-game slide.
