BATHURST, N.B. — Francis Leclerc made 33 saves as the Moncton Wildcats opened the 2018-19 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season with a 3-1 win over the defending President's Cup champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Thursday.

Dylan Seitz, Tristan DeJong and Mika Cyr supplied the offence for the Wildcats (1-0-0) while Adam Capannelli tacked on two assists.

Andrew MacLeod gave the Titan (0-1-0) a chance by kicking out 36-of-38 shots.

Keenan MacIsaac scored to give Acadie-Bathurst a 1-0 lead in the second period only for Moncton to respond with three third-period goals.

Both teams went 0 for 5 on the power play.
