Stampeders star Cornish earns pair of weekly honours
Calgary running back Jon Cornish was named CFL offensive player of the week and top Canadian after his stellar performance in the Stampeders' 33-23 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last week. Edmonton linebacker Dexter McCoil was named defensive player of the week, while Eskimos kick returner Kendial Lawrence took the special-teams honour.

TORONTO - Calgary running back Jon Cornish was named CFL offensive player of the week and top Canadian after his stellar performance in the Stampeders' 33-23 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last week.
Cornish, from New Westminster, B.C., had 21 carries for 160 rushing yards and scored on a nine-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. He also had a 12-yard reception.
Edmonton linebacker Dexter McCoil was named defensive player of the week. He had a career-high seven tackles and added a pass knockdown and an interception to help the Eskimos to a 24-19 win over Saskatchewan.
Eskimos kick returner Kendial Lawrence took the special-teams honour after recording 150 combined return yards and scoring a touchdown.
