WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed American receiver/returner Janarion Grant to a one-year contract Wednesday.

The five-foot-nine 164-pound Grant, a native of Fort Trilby, Fla., has spent the last two seasons with Winnipeg.

Grant appeared in six regular-season games last season, leading Winnipeg in both punt- and kickoff-return yardage (34 punts for 375 yards and a TD, 12 kickoffs for 283 yards). He also recorded nine punt returns for 64 yards and seven kickoff returns for 155 yards in the playoffs as Winnipeg captured a second straight Grey Cup title.

Grant has returned four punts for TDs in just 17 regular-season CFL games played. He appeared in 11 contests with Winnipeg in 2019 after first attending training camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Grant began his pro career in 2018, joining the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. He made the team’s final roster as the primary punt and kick returner but was released in late September 2018.

The team also signed receiver Lucky Jackson on Wednesday. Jackson spent four seasons with Western Kentucky, recording 94 receptions for 1,133 yards and four touchdowns during his senior season in 2019.
