The Montreal Alouettes have released Canadian linebacker Frederic Plesius after just one season with the squad.

Plesius played in seven games on the Alouettes defence last season, finishing with seven special teams tackles.

The 29-year-old played the first four seasons of his CFL career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and in 73 career games in the league has 25 tackles, one sack, and one interception.
