Major League Baseball has meted out discipline for Sunday's brawl between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds.

Bucs starter Chris Archer received a five-game suspension for throwing behind Reds second baseman Derek Dietrich, while Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig received a two-game ban for his role.

Reds manager David Bell was also suspended one game.

The incident occurred in the fourth inning of Sunday's game, won 7-5 by the Pirates.

Archer's suspension is subject to appeal and if he were to appeal, any suspension will be held up until the end of the process.

Puig will not appeal and begin his suspension on Tuesday night against the Miami Marlins. Bell's suspension will also be served on Tuesday.

All three were also subject to undisclosed fines.
