Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said that starter Aaron Sanchez is in Dunedin and is expected to start playing catch Tuesday according to TSN's Scott Mitchell.

Atkins stressed that the club will not know how Sanchez's blister will respond until he gets into game-action in the spring.

The news comes about three months after he was shut down for the season where he landed the disabled list four separate times.

In just eight starts, Sanchez finished with a 1-3 record and an ERA of 4.25.

In 2016, Sanchez's ERA of 3.00 led the American League while he posted a record of 15-2. His breakout season earned him the first All-Star nod of his career.

In other Blue Jay injury news, Atkins added that second baseman Devon Travis will be ready for spring training as he recovers from a knee injury.

Travis has struggled with injuries over the course of his three-year career, playing in only 50 games in 2017.
