MUNICH — Bayern Munich wants to sign English winger Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says "he's a very interesting player that we really want to sign. He has qualities that fit with our game. He's strong in dribbling with the ball, full of tricks, is drawn to goal and a young player, who has huge potential. Hudson-Odoi is a player who would suit us."

Salihamidzic was speaking Wednesday at the team's winter training camp in Doha, Qatar.

Salihamidzic had earlier confirmed the signing of 22-year-old France defender Benjamin Pavard from Bundesliga rival Stuttgart for next season.

News agency dpa reports that Bayern has offered 30 million euros ($34 million) for the 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi, who has made only one Premier League appearance this season. However, he did set up both goals for Alvaro Morata in the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Salihamidzic says Bayern is "not thinking" of allowing any players to leave.
