Nick Markakis' time in Baltimore is over.

The Atlanta Braves have signed the veteran outfielder to a four-year contract worth $44 million, though the club has not confirmed the terms of the deal.

The 31-year-old broke into the league with the Orioles in 2006 and has played in Baltimore ever since. Markakis hit .276 with 14 home runs and 50 runs batted in last season.

Shortly after the season ended, Markakis and the Orioles seemed to be close on a new contract, but the negotiations stalled, reportedly due to the Orioles disinterest in signing Markakis to a four-year contract.
