(SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Brewers haven't won a series at Coors Field since the summer of 2005, but that may soon change.

Milwaukee won Friday night's opener of a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies and can secure a series victory with a triumph in game two of the weekend matchup on Saturday.

The Brewers have been magnificent on the road in 2014, winning 25 of 40 games overall and scoring 5.6 runs per game while capturing eight of the last 10 away from home. Still, they're just 8-21 in Colorado since taking two of three against the Rockies in August 2005.

"Everybody likes hitting in this park," Milwaukee's Jean Segura said. "This place is great for hitters. It's amazing how balls go off the bat here, just go out in the field so quickly."

Segura homered twice in Friday's opener, ending a streak of 41 games without a long ball. It was the first multi-homer game of his big-league career.

Taking the mound for the Brewers is right-hander Wily Peralta, who's won three straight road games since a five-start stretch in which he'd gone 0-4.

His last outing came Monday at Arizona, where he allowed three runs in seven innings of a 9-3 triumph.

He's 0-2 in his career against the Rockies and was an 8-3 loser at Coors Field last season.

Colorado scored 10 runs on Friday in its first game since being no-hit by Los Angeles starter Clayton Kershaw.

"Guys turned the page pretty well," manager Walt Weiss said. "(The no-hitter) was long forgotten when the game started."

In the last five games, though, Rockies starters have given up 24 runs in 19 1/3 innings.

Trying to reverse that trend is lefty Christian Friedrich, who takes the big- league mound for the first time since 2012.

He was 5-8 with a 6.17 earned run average for the Rockies in 2012 before a back injury. So far this season at Triple-A Colorado Springs, he'd posted a 1-8 record with a 7.89 ERA in 13 starts.

He was called up to replace demoted starter Juan Nicasio and will become the 11th pitcher to start a game for Colorado in 2014.

On Friday, Segura, Khris Davis and Aramis Ramirez all had three RBI and the Brewers survived a slugfest with the Rockies en route to a 13-10 win.

Segura had a pair of solo shots and Davis added a two-run blast for the Brewers, who set a season high for runs scored and matched a season high with 19 hits.

Justin Morneau and Corey Dickerson each homered for Colorado. Morneau knocked in five runs total, while Dickerson finished 4-for-5 with three RBI.
