Boston Bruins forward Riley Nash won't play in Thursday's Game 1 against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to an ear laceration suffered near the end of the season, head coach Bruce Cassidy announced on Wednesday.

Nash had an off-ice workout on Wednesday and will skate on Thursday. He has not been ruled out for Game 2 on Saturday.

The 28-year-old missed the final five games of the regular season after getting hit in the side of the head with a shot on March 31. Nash has 15 goals and 26 assists over 76 games with the Bruins this season.

In other lineup news for Boston, Rick Nash, who has been out since March 19 with a concussion, and Sean Kuraly (upper-body) appear ready to go for Game 1.

Nash, 33, scored three goals and three assists over 11 games with the Bruins this season after they picked him up from the New York Rangers in early February.

Kuraly has missed seven consecutive games with his injury.

Cassidy says that defenceman Adam McQuaid will play Game 1 with blueliner Nick Holden serving as the healthy scratch.
