Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was suspended Wednesday by the NFL without pay for the first 10 games of the 2015 season after violating the NFL's domestic conduct policy.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Hardy will appeal the suspension.

"In a letter from Commissioner Roger Goodell, Hardy was informed that an extensive two-month NFL investigation following the dismissal of his case in North Carolina state court determined that there was sufficient credible evidence that Hardy engaged in conduct that violated NFL policies in multiple respects and with aggravating circumstances," said the NFL in a release.

The former Carolina Panther signed with the Cowboys in the offseason with Dallas knowing the veteran defensive end could be suspended.
