The Arizona Coyotes have re-signed defenceman Kevin Connauton to a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

According to TSN Senior Hockey Reporter Frank Seravalli, the deal carries an AAV of $1.375 million.

The 28-year-old Edmonton native put up a career-high 21 points (11 G, 10 A) over 73 games with the Coyotes last season.

"We are very pleased to sign Kevin to a contract extension," said Coyotes president of hockey operations and general manager John Chayka. "Kevin is a versatile defenceman with a great work ethic. He had an excellent season last year and he adds depth to our blueline. We're happy to have him back."

Connauton is finishing up a two-year, $2 million contract with the Coyotes.

The 6-foot-2 defenceman was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third-round (83rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and has accumulated 26 goals and 42 assists over 260 career games with the Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Coyotes.
