The Anaheim Ducks and defenceman Brandon Montour have reached a two-year deal, settling just before arbitration, the team confirmed Tuesday.

Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports the deal is worth a total of $6.775 million - carrying a cap hit of $3.39 million.

In 80 games last season with Anaheim, Montour had nine goals and 23 assists. He added one assist in four playoffs games.

Montour made his debut with the Ducks during the 2016-17 season, when he totalled six points in 27 games. His average ice time increased by more than three minutes this past season to an average of 20:28 per game.

He was selected in the fourth round (No. 55 overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

The 24-year-old is a native of Brantford, Ont.
