Carolina Hurricanes forward Micheal Ferland said he doesn't think he will be back for Game 3 on Wednesday night but could return Friday night.

"I don't think tomorrow. Maybe Game 4," he said.

"When he's ready to go, he'll go," said head coach Rod Brind'Amour of the left winger.

Ferland has been out since Game 3 of the first round because of an upper-body injury. He skated with the team Tuesday but was not on one of the four line rushes.

Meanwhile, forward Andrei Svechnikov (concussion protocol) appears to be nearing a return after participating fully in practice on Tuesday.

Brind'Amour said he doesn't need anymore medical clearance and his return to the lineup depends on how he feels.

Game 3 will go from Raleigh Wednesday night.
