Brian Peters is the latest CFLer to head south of the border this off-season.

Peters will join former Toronto Argonauts defensive back Jahlil Carter in Minnesota, after the former Saskatchewan Roughriders linebacker signed with the Vikings on Monday.

A college safety, Peters spent the last two years at linebacker for the Roughriders. He compiled 78 tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions for the Riders last season after playing sparingly his rookie season.

Peters took to Twitter after the news broke to thank the Roughriders and their fans.

"#Ridernation @sskroughriders Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support & opportunity to represent the organization w/ pride," Peters tweeted.

This is the second free agent Saskatchewan has lost to the NFL this winter after Ben Heenan previously signed with the Indianapolis Colts.
