VAL-D'OR, Que. — Mathieu Bizier scored two goals as the Gatineau Olympiques used a third-period rally to come back and beat the Val-D'or Foreurs 5-2 Tuesday and advance to the second round of the QMJHL playoffs.

Tristan Allard recorded three points with a goal and two assists in the Gatineau win.

Olympiques goalie Rémi Poirier made 24 saves while Val-D'or's Tristan Boileau stopped 32.

Trailing 2-0 after Justin Robidas made it 2-0 Foreurs at the 3:32 mark of the third period, the Olympiques responded with five unanswered goals beginning with Donovan Arsenault scoring at 4:17.

Bizier notched his first of the evening at 8:54 on the power play and less than a minute afterward Cole Cormier got the game-winner.

With less than a minute left to play, Allard scored his goal to make it 4-2 and Bizier would add an empty-netter for his second marker of the contest.

Gatineau will see the Shawinigan Cataractes in the second round.

Elsewhere around the QMJHL playoffs Tuesday, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada finished off the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-2 in Game 4, while the Sherbrooke Phoenix topped the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 3-2 in the fourth game of that series to set up a second-round matchup between the Armada and Phoenix.

And there will be a fifth and deciding game between the Oceanic and the Sea Dogs after Rimouski came away with a 1-0 victory on a second-period goal from William Dumoulin.

Game 5 will go Thursday in Saint John.
