Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs made changes to their forward lines once again Monday with Andreas Johnsson out due to a concussion.

Mitch Marner joined Auston Matthews on a line with Patrick Marleau, while Zach Hyman and John Tavares had Kasperi Kapanen on their wing. Connor Brown, Nazem Kadri and William Nylander served as the team's third line and defenceman Justin Holl filled on the fourth line with Frederik Gauthier and Par Lindholm. Holl is expected to be replaced by Trevor Moore when he is recalled from the AHL this week.

Both Andreas Johnsson and Jake Gardiner were both absent from practice on Monday.

Head coach Mike Babcock said Sunday night that Johnsson will miss Wednesday's game against the Washington Capitals due to a concussion sustained in the team's loss to the Arizona Coyotes. Babcock added that Trevor Moore would be recalled from the Toronto Marlies.

Babcock said Sunday he did not know whether Gardiner will be available against the Capitals after the defenceman missed Sunday's game back spasms.

Johnsson was injured after a collision with Coyotes defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson in the second period of Sunday's game. He has 10 goals and 22 points in 43 games this season.

Moore, 23, has one goal and three points in six games with the Maple Leafs this season. In 32 contests with the AHL's Marlies he has 19 goals and 27 points this season.

San Jose Sharks

Erik Karlsson will miss at least the team's next two games before the All-Star break, head coach Pete DeBoer announced Monday.

Karlsson missed Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning due to a lower-body injury. DeBoer did not rule out the defenceman from playing in Sunday's All-Star Game.

“I have no idea what’s going on with that,” DeBoer said, per the Mercury News. “I just want to get him healthy. If he’s healthy enough, I would hope he’ll play and I know he would play. Let’s cross our fingers and hope that he’s healthy enough to play.”

Ottawa Senators

Defenceman Mark Borowiecki is a game-time decision to face the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday, while Craig Anderson will start in net for that contest.

Colin White said Monday he should be fine to return to the Senators lineup on February 1 following the team's all-star break. He's been out since Jan. 10 due to a shoulder injury.
