The New York Islanders appear to have been dealt another blow on their blueline.

Arthur Staple of Newsday reports defenceman Dennis Seidenberg is believed to have suffered a broken jaw on Saturday night against the Islanders.

The Islanders are already without defencemen Travis Hamonic and Ryan Pulock due to injuries.

Seidenberg, 35, signed with the Islanders after a strong showing with Team Europe at the World Cup of Hockey. He owns four goals and four assists in 15 games with the Islanders this season.

With Seidenberg sidelined, the Islanders are down to five healthy defenceman on the roster and will need to recall a player ahead of their Monday night contest with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
