The New York Islanders have signed Swedish goaltender Robin Lehner to a one-year contract.

According to AP's Stephen Whyno, the deal is worth $1.5 million.

Lehner, 26, just finished his third and final season with the Buffalo Sabres, where he posted a .908% save percentage, 3.01 GAA and a record of 14-26-9 through the 2017-2018 season.

Prior to getting the starting position in Buffalo, Lehner acted as the backup goaltender for the Ottawa Senators. He was drafted by the Sens in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft (46th overall) and played with the organization for five seasons before getting traded in June 2015 alongside David Legwand in exchange for the 21st overall pick at the 2015 Draft (Colin White).

Throughout his eight-year career in the NHL so far, Lehner has an overall save percentage of 0.915% and 2.82 GAA over 219 games.

The Swede is coming off a one-year, $4 million contract.
