Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced on Sunday that Toby Enstrom will be shut down for the remainder of the regular season.

The team expects the 33-year-old defenceman to be ready for Game 1 of their opening round playoff series.

Enstrom incurred a lower-body injury during the club's 3-2 overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. He was not expected to dress against the Nashville Predators on Sunday.

In 43 games this season, Enstrom has a goal and five assists and was averaging 17:02 of ice-time a night.

As for the game against the Central Division-leading Predators on Sunday night, the Jets had an optional skate on Sunday morning prior to it.
