Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Travis Dermott has been ruled week-to-week with a shoulder injury sustained in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Leafs head coach Mike Babcock announced the injury after win, one the same day the team ruled defenceman Jake Gardiner week-to-week with a back injury.

A hit in the neutral zone in the third period from Edmonton's Brad Malone sent Dermott into the boards where he was seen favouring his left shoulder. He did not return.

The 22-year-old has 17 points in 60 games with the Leafs this season.

Defeceman Martin Marincin will be called up and draw into the lineup Thursday night when the Leafs play the New York Islanders. Igor Ozhiganov replaced Gardiner on Wednesday night, but Babcock said Justin Holl will pair with Marincin on Thursday. Holl last played on Dec. 23 and has dressed in just two games this season.
