The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed College free agent forward Casey Bailey to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Bailey has scored 22 goals in 37 games with Penn State in 2014-15 and is eligible for free agency as an undrafted 23-year-old. He is currently in his junior season with the Nittany Lions.

The six-foot-three, 195-pound Anchorage, Alaska-native is expected to join the Leafs immediately, meaning he will burn the first year of his deal this season. The team’s public relations department confirmed that Bailey is NHL-bound but would not offer specifics on when, leaving their tweet at: “Bailey is expected to join the [Maple Leafs] before the end of the season. Timing to be determined”.

CBS Sports’ Chris Peters offered some additional information on Bailey, noting that he leads the U.S. Collegiate ranks with 211 shots on goal this season, for an average of 5.7 per game.
