The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette has been suspended one game for boarding Boston Bruins defenceman Torey Krug.

The incident occurred in the second period of the of the Bruins’ 3-2 win on Wednesday night. Paquette hit Krug into the boards while the Bruins defenceman attempted to play the puck behind his own net.

Paquette was given a two-minute minor for boarding on the playing and picked up another two minutes for roughing after Bruins forward Frank Vatrano went after him following the hit.

Krug was not injured on the play and scored the Bruins’ game-winning goal three minutes later.

Paquette, 24, owns one assist in 11 games with the Lightning this season.
