For the second straight season, Chris Kunitz will be looking for a new team on July 1.

Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said Friday the team will not offer the pending free agent a contract to try to retain his services with the team.

Kunitz spent nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins before signing with the Lightning last summer on a one-year, $2 million deal. He scored 13 goals and posted 29 points with the Lightning this season, adding one assist in 17 playoff games.

A four-time Stanley Cup champion, Kunitz is a veteran of 966 NHL contests and owns 263 goals and 609 points in his career.

Yzerman said the 38-year-old is not planning to retire this summer and will be looking elsewhere for a contract.
