TORONTO — Chris Mueller scored his second goal of the game in overtime as the Toronto Marlies edged the Charlotte Checkers 5-4 in American Hockey League action Monday.
Sam Gagner, Steve Olesky and Michael Carcone also scored for Toronto (15-13-5). Jeremy Bracco added three assists.
Greg McKegg had two goals and Saku Maenalanen and Zach Nastasiuk also scored for Charlotte (24-8-3), which erased a 4-1 deficit to send the game to overtime.
Michael Hutchinson made 31 saves for Toronto. Charlotte starter Alex Nedeljkovic allowed three goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Scott Darling, who made 21 saves on 23 shots in relief.
The Marlies had a goal on three power-play chances, while Charlotte was 0-for-2.
