Keep up to date with all the latest news and rumours leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft with TSN.ca's live blog. The draft will take place in Chicago and you can watch it live across the TSN Network and on TSN GO at 8pm et/5pm pt.
Backing Down
The Cleveland Browns already moved down from the second overall pick to the eighth overall in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. But they might not be done there.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns could move further down the draft to acquire extra picks and move into the range for Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.
Treadwell could be the first wide receiver off the board on Thursday night. TSN.ca spoke to Treadwell about the pre-draft process earlier this week.
Count him out
Offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley has been mocked to the San Diego Chargers with the third overall pick. However, Fox Sports' Alex Marvez reports Stanley will not be picked by the Chargers when their draft card comes up on Thursday night.
Stanley has been widely ranked as the second best offensive tackle in the draft behind Laremy Tunsil, though the possibility still exists he jumps Tunsil in the draft.
The Chargers will have their choice of non-quarterback prospects once the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles submit their draft cards. Defensive back Jalen Ramsey and defensive linemen DeForest Buckner and Joey Bosa are all top options for the Bolts.
Multiple ESPN reports suggest the Dallas Cowboys are debating between Ramsey and running Ezekiel Elliot with the fourth overall pick. The team's decision may be made for them if the Chargers address their secondary.
Sneaking into the first round?
Christian Hackenberg is one of the draft's most polarizing players. The Penn State quarterback excelled in his freshman season under now-Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien, but struggled in his second and third years under James Franklin. He is likely to be picked in the second round, but could be a surprise selection on Thursday night.
How low will he go?
UCLA linebacker Myles Jack was once projected as a top-five pick in this year's draft, however concerns he may need knee surgery in the future have hurt his stock.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jack is now expected to fall out of the top 10.
Jack, a versatile athlete, also played running back while in college. His Junior season ended after just three games due to a torn meniscus.
Eyes on the line
The New York Giants appear to be focused on their offensive line in the first round on Thursday night, at least according to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News.
Eli Manning was sacked 27 times last season.
Sticking with RGIII
The Cleveland Browns do not appear interested in trading back into the first round to acquire a quarterback. Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown told ESPN's Josina Anderson the team is not interested in moving their second-round pick (32nd overall) to get back into the top round for a passer.
"I don't think we would have to move up from 32 to get any player that we'd be interested in taking," Brown told Anderson. "I don't anticipate or plan to move off 32 to go get a quarterback."
The Browns signed former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III earlier this off-season.
One last mock
Wait it out
The Los Angeles Rams are keeping their pick a secret until the clock starts, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Rams acquired the top pick from the Tennessee Titans earlier this month.
Leader for the Champs
The Denver Broncos are still searching for another option at quarterback after trading for quarterback Mark Sanchez earlier this off-season. The defending Super Bowl champions lost starter Peyton Manning to retirement in March and his heir apparent Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans in free agency. One option the Broncos reportedly targeted was is disgruntled Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team is now looking elsewhere as the Eagles plan to keep Bradford.
Schools to watch
Ohio State and Alabama, two of the NCAA's biggest powerhouses, are set to see plently of their former players have their names called on Thursday night.
See you on Day 2?
Schefter also reports quarterback Paxton Lynch, who is widely viewed as the third-best quarterback in the draft behind Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, could fall out of the first round entirely. The Broncos own the 31st overall pick and that would be Lynch's final option before the quarterback is forced to wait until Friday to hear his named called.
The Cleveland Browns have also been linked to Lynch.
