Despite the Los Angeles Lakers not actually playing in postseason contention this year, this month has seen a few brands honour one of the NBA’s most recognized franchises with new takes on some of their most popular sneakers. First, New Balance unveiled their iteration at the start of the month. Now, Nike is releasing another pair of Dunk Highs in a Lakers colourway.

While the kicks aren’t officially associated with the storied NBA franchise, its two-toned colour scheme is most certainly an homage to the team.

For this pair, Nike primarily outfits the base in the iconic Lakers purple and gold palette. “Court Purple” Nike check marks adorn the smooth leather while the toe boxes, tongues, laces and collars all boast a golden yellow exterior. The tongues and insoles are decorated with Nike’s signature name and Swoosh logo, both of  which are also fitted in a Lakers-inspired palette. The shoe is finished off with styled white midsoles and purple treading.

A release date for the new Lakers-themed Nike Dunk Highs has not yet been revealed, although the pair is likely to drop in the coming months via Nike’s website and select retailers. They will retail starting at $110 USD.
